Registration opens for CompTIA EMEA Member & Partner Conference 2024

Jul 2, 2024

Annual gathering of tech industry innovators and education leaders set for 21-22 October

LONDON, 2 July 2024 – CompTIA, the nonprofit association for the information technology (IT) community and workforce, today announced the opening of registration for the 2024 edition of its annual EMEA Member and Partner Conference.

This year’s conference is set for 21-22 October at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London. Event information and registration is available at https://connect.comptia.org/emea.

CompTIA’s EMEA Member and Partner Conference features robust education programming for two distinct audiences – executives and leaders from IT channel companies, and professionals at the forefront of educating and training current and future technology professionals.

“Bringing the diverse organizations and groups in the IT channel across the EMEA region, is the beauty and strength of the global CompTIA Community." said MJ Shoer, chief community officer for the association. "When we bring people together, even fierce competitors, we understand each other's unique perspectives and challenges, in a safe, neutral space where we can work together to be our very best, individually and organizationally, for the benefit of all."

“With this dual focus we address one of the biggest issues we all face – growing the population of technology professionals,” said Donna Koppensteiner, chief revenue officer, CompTIA. “We’re facilitating direct interaction between workforce development organisations and employers with serious staffing needs. We believe both groups will benefit in the immediate and long term from the conversations that begin at our conference.”

Two program tracks are planned for CompTIA partners from the academic and training market, each designed to elevate how training is delivered and offer insights to support business growth and agility. The “Business of Education” track will feature sessions on marketing, strategy and other business functions viewed through the lens of an education provider. The second track will deliver best practices, product-focused sessions and tips and tools that instructors can employ in the classroom to better connect with the modern learner.

Developing and expanding the tech workforce is vital given the growth in employment opportunities in many EMEA countries. In the United Kingdom, for example, CompTIA estimates that net tech employment increased by 3.4% from 2022 to 2023. This year, tech employment is projected to grow by more than 35,000 new jobs in software development, IT support, networking, cybersecurity, telecommunications and other occupations.

The education track for the technology community of product vendors, distributors, managed service providers, solution providers and others will focus on topics that are critical to business success. IT channel professionals will learn business-building strategies, tips and best practices in the areas of sales, marketing and customer service—among others. Also available is a cybersecurity educational track where attendees will learn from security leaders identifying and overcoming the latest threats, as well as ways to proactively keep you and your customers safe. The cybersecurity track includes workshops aligned with the CompTIA Cybersecurity Trustmark, an assurance that organisations can earn to demonstrate that they meet or exceed industry standards for cybersecurity.

More details on the CompTIA EMEA Member and Partner Conference, including the full agenda, featured speakers and exhibitors will be released in the coming weeks at https://connect.comptia.org/emea.
