Infrastructure Automation AI Experts Needed

CompTIA is looking for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who have current experience specializing in automating and streamlining complex IT systems, enabling system and network administrators to automate routine tasks, managing system configurations, and/or streamlining workflows, to be involved in a Job Task Analysis workshop for our new CompTIA certification, +Autocode.

During the Job Task Analysis, SMEs will identify areas of competence required for the +Autocode exam to ensure that the examination objectives are relevant to the job skills and activities for the target audience.

Assistance from SMEs is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. Potential SMEs must have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Senior Systems Administrator or IT Infrastructure Manager, with responsibility for:

  • Overseeing IT infrastructure across multiple platforms (on-prem, cloud, hybrid environments)
  • Leading efforts in automation, system configuration, and performance optimization
  • Developing and implementing workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency
  • Ensuring high availability and minimizing downtime through proactive system monitoring and configuration management

Recommended:

  • Expert level skill in automating routine tasks using tools such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Puppet, etc.
  • Can design workflows that enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:

  • An honorarium of $440 per day (or $2,200 total for the week), pending adequate level of participation*
  • 40 continuing education credits (CEUs)
  • A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice
  • Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments daily during the workshop along with two optional group dinners during the week
  • SME Digital Badge for social media and resume 

*International SMEs will instead receive $540/day stipend ($2,700 total) to help defer additional travel costs.

In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the entire Item Writing workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.

Based on changing state and government guidelines/requirements, vaccination is currently not required for workshop participants.
