Almost six months ago, CompTIA launched its Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) Channel Community. Since then, we have been very busy. In August, we held our first ANZ Channel Community meeting in Sydney, and we’re about to host two more. CompTIA will again reconvene the ANZ Channel Community for two meetings in November: the first will be held in Sydney on November 24, the second will be in Melbourne on November 25.
These meetings are dedicated to CompTIA’s goal of getting technology resellers, solution providers, distributors, vendors and channel associates in the region working together and collaborating for the betterment of the IT industry in ANZ as a whole. At the November meetings, CompTIA will present its latest findings on IT trends and the state of the channel based on its latest international and local research. These studies include important insights into how these trends impact local businesses.
For example, a recent CompTIA survey of 200 Australian IT company executives found 52 percent are generally optimistic about the future of the channel, 28 percent have mixed feelings about the future of the channel, and 14 percent are generally pessimistic. The primary reason to be optimistic? Forty-two percent say cloud computing is opening new opportunities for the channel. On the other hand, 34 percent say new types of competitors, such as telecom companies and digital agencies, are concerning to them.
Securing information about what lies ahead in the industry is invaluable. It will let local businesses prepare for future changes and identify and capitalize on opportunities ahead of the competition.
