Every good manager knows that delegation is critical and a skill that must be embraced.
Below are a few tips to help:
Choose the best person for the task: Spend the time to understand the skills of your team, where the strengths lie, and whom could be suited to the task that needs to be fulfilled.
Clearly communicate what is required: Provide your employees with a good understanding of what is required of them and make sure they have something to refer too. Be sure to have an open door, if questions arise, and make the time to guide or mentor the employee if needed.
Trust each other: This area is a challenge for many business owners, especially with the blood, stress, sweat and tears that has gone into building the business. Both you and the employees need to trust and rely on each other to deliver successful outcomes, and a failure in any of the above can be demoralising to both you, the employee and the business.
