The inaugural ANZ Channel Community meeting, held in August, just two months after CompTIA launched the ANZ Channel Community group, was a great success. More than 90 participants from the Australian IT industry attended the event.
The meeting was dedicated to technology resellers, solution providers, vendors, and channel associations based in Australia and New Zealand.
On the day, John Kolenda, co-founder and managing director of Finsure Finance and Insurance, reminded us of the many reasons of the need to think like disruptors to remain relevant in today’s industry. CompTIA’s Senior Vice President, Industry Relations, Nancy Hammervick, outlined why the CompTIA ANZ Channel Community needs to be member-led if we’re to achieve our goals in the region.
Broadly, the purpose of the ANZ Channel Community is to work together to improve our businesses and our industry. To do this, we want you to share your insights and perspectives, to help CompTIA provide direction and to champion the initiatives of the community here in Australia and New Zealand. The more collaboration we have, the better this initiative will work.
By the end of the event, I could see that we had succeeded in taking the first step toward our goal of ushering in a new era of collaboration and discussion among the IT industry in Australia and New Zealand. The event was such a success, that we’re already talking about another CompTIA ANZ Channel Community event as early as November, which would likely be held in both Sydney and Melbourne.
I do hope the community members who came to our very first ANZ Channel Community Meeting can come along to our future events as well and more importantly, that they can also invite their colleagues and partners to come along as well.
