Harry Rosario first became interested in tech after watching his father build a career in IT. Over the years, Harry explored various avenues in tech and his leadership skills shined through. He excelled at leading groups, and it's one of the reasons he was offered the role as a manager at Clear Blue Insurance Group, a property and casualty insurance company.
As the Information System Director, Harry is responsible for the development group as well as quality assurance processes and user management for a variety of systems. Processing data is a key focus for Clear Blue and Harry oversees eight developers that are tasked with ensuring processing data and ensuring quality control.
Harry wanted to give his team the right tools to do their job efficiently and effectively
On a day-to-day basis, Harry and his team process and analyze data for their financial reporting team, so it’s critical to avoid any mistakes. Errors in the data that Harry's team reports would not only cost the company time and money, but it would have a ripple effect and potentially hurt the company’s reputation. To minimize any risks and keep his team at the top of their data game, Harry wanted to give them the tools they needed to become even more robust in mining and analyzing data. “As a manager I am always looking for ways for my team to grow and develop,” he says.Harry turned to CompTIA to deepen his team’s data skills
Harry enrolled his team in CompTIA Data+, choosing the instructor-led training option at the CompTIA headquarters. He knew that CompTIA certifications validate skill sets in different technology domains and enhance credibility within the industry.
While Harry's goal was to provide his team with the cutting-edge tools they needed to be efficient at their job, enhance their technical capabilities, and improve their problem-solving abilities, he also took part in the training. “This training is important for me as a manager,” he says.
For Harry, instructor-led training from CompTIA is the way to go
Harry decided to take advantage of the instructor-led Data+ training option from CompTIA because, in his experience, when there is a physical instructor present, people are more likely to pay attention and be more engaged. There is also the opportunity to interact closely with the instructor, ask questions and exchange opinions.
Taking the training from a certified instructor was also a major plus for Harry because he believes they have a better understanding of the topics they’re teaching. As experts, they tend to understand the latest knowledge and skills needed in today’s tech world.
CompTIA training and certifications boost team performance
Harry found the training to be very productive. He and his team learned new concepts on data analysis, new ways of doing things, and different tactics for improving their data quality. As a result, his team will be able to create more robust reports for the data they’re processing.
“Employees with the right skills, feel empowered to tackle challenges and work smarter, not harder”
Harry recommends this type of training to managers who are looking to expand their team knowledge and performance. “The greatest value of CompTIA training is its ability to align skills or skill sets with our objectives,” he says. “CompTIA certifications are important because they validate skill sets in different technology domains. They also enhance credibility within the industry.”
“If you're a manager considering training or providing training for your employees, I would recommend CompTIA all the way”
“The training platform is really awesome,” says Harry. “It provides all sorts of documentation and practice tests and questions. And I think that is the key in learning and excelling in passing the training and the certification.”
Harry felt the coursework was easy to follow and understand, and that the instructor provided a variety of ways to help his team excel, including practice exams, quizzes, and more, making it a comprehensive learning experience.
