Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau once said, “The essential ingredient of politics is timing.” While he certainly has a point, we also believe it is a matter of time … how much time you have to get your message across. Elected officials make decisions every day, many of which directly affect your business. Remembering a constituent’s face and the message that they sharply delivered can make the difference in how they cast their votes or develop policy.
We would like to invite you to come to Washington, D.C., in November to have your time with your elected officials. CompTIA is holding its Washington D.C. Fly-In, November 1-3, 2011. Mark your calendars today!
This Fly-In will give CompTIA members the opportunity to come to Washington and meet with legislators and their staff and other government officials, and participate in the advocacy process first hand. We also will provide a briefing on the direction of CompTIA advocacy efforts, and we are in the process of developing terrific networking opportunities to truly get a taste of D.C. Whether you are focused on privacy, data breach and notification, health IT, cybersecurity, workforce development or access to capital, the CompTIA Washington D.C. Fly-in allows you to address these issues with both CompTIA and elected officials.
Activities will kick off with a reception late on the afternoon of November 1st and will wrap up mid-day on November 3rd. So, mark your calendars now and you soon will receive more information about this exciting opportunity! We also encourage you to sign up for the Fly-In at Breakaway. We will have a sign-up sheet available at the CompTIA Public Advocacy booth. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Matthew L. Evans, public advocacy manager at 202-465-7781 or MEvans@comptia.org.
