For the second year running, we are leveraging our IT communities to promote technology-related philanthropic organizations around the world. With grants around $5,000, the news is definitely worth sharing.

The CompTIA IT Services and Support Community kicked off the 2012 philanthropy effort with donations of $5,000 each to the National Cristina Foundation and Per Scholas. If you haven’t heard about these amazing organizations, here you go:

  • The National Cristina Foundation provides solutions to help nonprofits, schools and public agencies manage their own technology reuse agendas to assist people with disabilities, students at risk and economically disadvantaged persons in their local communities to lead more independent and productive lives.

  • Per Scholas is a Bronx-based national nonprofit organization that breaks the cycle of poverty by providing technology education, access, training and job placement services for people in low-income communities.

“The National Cristina Foundation and Per Scholas are well known through the IT industry for their exemplary efforts in demonstrating how the use and re-use of technology can enhance education and career opportunities for people across the country,” said Sue Krautbauer, chair of the CompTIA IT Services and Support Community and director of business development for Jabil Global Services.

Additional donations from other CompTIA member communities will be announced in the coming weeks and months.
