Earlier this month, CompTIA hosted its second Excellence in Cybersecurity Awards breakfast. We created this award to recognize members of Congress and federal agency program managers who have the foresight to use federal resources wisely.
In addition, Federal Chief Information Officer Tony Scott made remarks that highlighted the administration’s efforts to bolster cyber-talent under the Federal Cybersecurity Workforce Strategy and emphasized the importance of developing highly skilled talent in the federal workforce and cybersecurity skills of those who work for the U.S. government. CompTIA was honored to present awards to Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX), Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and the U.S. Marine Corps’ Ray Letteer. All three awardees had a great deal to say about the challenges we are facing in filling our talent pipeline but all remain optimistic that we are heading in the right direction. There is much work to be done and CompTIA looks forward to remaining engaged on this issue.
