On the heels of its successful Dream IT program and related Career Resource Center, CompTIA’s Advancing Women in IT Community is looking to permanently move the diversity needle by focusing on ways to not only bring women into IT, but to keep them flourishing in the industry.
“There’s a lot of data that women enter but tend to leave IT in droves, mid-career,” said Cathy Alper, CompTIA’s director of member communities and AWIT’s community leader. “One of the things we’re trying to do this year is focus more on culture. If we have a lot of women going into IT, feeling empowered, but don’t have companies that offer that same kind of environment, that’s a disconnect.”
On April 8, join AWIT for Changing the Face of Technology—Creating Cultures That Close the Gender Gap!, a webinar by Jan Molino and Judy Patterson of Aspire Ascend L.L.C., a professional services firm that creates and develops workplace strategies for achieving gender balance.
Register now for the webinar, which includes steps you can take to shift the company culture toward increased diversity. “The webinar focuses on corporate culture and how to balance empowering people with giving them good places to work,” Alper said.
This webinar will offer insight to individuals, who can learn to better understand their own company culture and how to succeed within it, and to business owners and managers, who will learn how to create a culture that attracts and retains talent, and ultimately, increases profitability.
