Senate Republicans blocked legislation that would have created voluntary standards for businesses.
The Senate blocked a $1 billion jobs bill that would have helped find employment opportunities for veterans, says the
Associated Press. Senate Republicans said the plan violated spending restriction imposed on Congress in 2011, and Democrats failed to garner enough votes to waive the objection.

House of Representatives blocked legislation that would make it easier for foreign workers in STEM fields who have earned their degrees in the U.S. to stay in the country and work; this according to the
