House Ways and Means To Mark up 1099 Repeal—The House Ways and Means Committee will mark up a bill this week that would repeal the 1099 tax provision that was included in last year's healthcare law.  The Senate passed the so-called "1099 repeal" – although it was part of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) authorization bill. It is not clear whether the House will attach its own 1099 repeal to FAA legislation.  If the House does not, passage of the repeal could be complicated because the House and Senate must agree on identical language before it can become law, notes The Hill.

Cybersecurity Bill Could Be Stalled By House-Senate Differences—Rep. Mac Thornberry (R-TX), the House Republican tapped to drive passage of cyber legislation across committees, said he does not plan to work on a comprehensive bill, reports Nextgov.com.  This contrasts with Senate efforts to pass one large package covering federal, private and international networks.  The different approaches could delay action on cybersecurity legislation this year.
