Business Analyst Experts Needed

CompTIA is looking for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who have current experience specializing in a core business function such as marketing and sales, finance and accounting, human resources, or operations, including analysis experience, to be involved in an Job Task Analysis workshop for our CompTIA Data+ certification exam.

During the Job Task Analysis, SMEs will identify areas of competence required for the Data+ exam to ensure that the examination objectives are relevant to job roles and activities for the target audience.

Assistance from SMEs is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. Potential SMEs must have at least 5 years of experience in functional business areas, including 5 years of analysis experience. Additionally, it is preferred that SMEs have experience:

• Collecting and analyzing information and trends
• Developing, generating, and communicating meaningful reports and dashboards using business analytics software
• Developing, publishing, and maintaining basic SQL queries
• Helping ensure data reporting integrity
• Acting as the subject matter expert for all data and reporting
• Assisting in integration of additional outside data sources into business analytics software such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI
• Setting up and monitoring reporting alerts and KPIs
• Performing ad-hoc analysis and reporting for multiple stakeholders

SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:

• An honorarium of $440 per day (or $2,200 total for the week), pending adequate level of participation
• 40 continuing education credits (CEUs)
• Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments daily during the workshop
• A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice

In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the entire Item Writing workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.

*International SMEs will instead receive $540/day stipend ($2,700 total) to help defer additional travel costs.

Based on changing state and government guidelines/requirements, vaccination is currently not required for workshop participants.
